The avocado industry in Mexico, led by APEAM* and its registered packers and growers and MHAIA,** is committed to responsible farming and sustainable practices that protect and conserve both the land and the environment, all while ensuring the quality of Mexican avocados.

In partnership with Forests For Monarchs, trees have been planted in and around the biosphere and watersheds of Michoacán to protect the natural habitat of the monarch butterfly.

Education on responsible farming and conservation practices is also a priority for this partnership.

Green Agenda

The sustainability strategies of the avocado industry align with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. APEAM also embraces the Paris Climate Agreement’s approach to combatting climate change.
